MI has the unfortunate coincidence of speaking about two men on one song, and watching the two of them die within a few months of each other.

In paying his respects to OJB Jezreel and Nomoreloss, now of blessed memory, MI disclosed that even though he is indeed saddened by their deaths, he doesn’t actually regret these lines on “Human Being”.

Somebody help me tell Mr Nomoreloss /

When OJB was sick it was hurting all of us /

But sometimes even artist don’t have doe on us /

Cos we self we be human being /

(Watch MI talk about both men in his exclusive interview with Filter Free in the video clip above)

Mister Incredible reunites with one of the men he collaborated with on that epic record, his name is 2Baba. MI doesn’t name check anybody on this record, thank god, but if President Buhari knows what I know about when these two linked up the last time… let me stop there, with my morbid sense of humor.

Oh Jah, my country’s in problem /

We voted change, but now it seems like even change cannot carry them /

What I meant to say was that when these two music legends link up, the only thing that gets killed is the track before them. Evidence – “Nobody” off MI’s M.I 2: The Movie (2010), 2Face Idibia’s “Be There (Remix)” off The Unstoppable: International Edition (2011) and the aforementioned “Human Beings”.

Their new record is titled “Babylon” and captures the mood of despair and confusion in the country right now, as Nigeria is officially in a recession. The economy is upside down and folks are gradually losing faith in the government of the day but MI and 2Baba want us to keep our head up. We aren’t sure whose record this is or whether there’s a joint project on the horizon. No idea where this record is going to end up either but one place we do know it won’t is on your phones and laptops, if you don’t buy it legally off iTunes
